Baseball Hitting, Fielding, and Pitching training
Austin is from the Virginia Beach, VA where he played Division 1 baseball at Old Dominion University (ODU). He was a two-way player for his collegiate career as both a middle infielder and closing pitcher for the ODU Monarchs. Austin graduated as a first team all state player from First Colonial High and spent his first two years at a JUCO college named Pitt CC in Greenville, NC.
Hampton Roads, VA is known for its hotbed of baseball talent and much of that is attributed to Austin’s father, Gary Wright who started an organization in the 80’s known as the Tidewater Drillers. The Drillers are known on a national level and have many current and former MLB stars and college players. Austin recalls a typical off season workout consisted of Ryan Zimmerman, Justin and BJ Upton, Mike Cuddyer, and David Wright all working out together and talking baseball while they challenged each other.
Austin has worked as a baseball instructor and coach for all ages and skills levels. Whether he’s working with nine year olds or running practices for the local college team, he brings a hands on approach how to out work and get the most out of every player. Austin is new to Denver and is looking to share his baseball knowledge with the community and help get kids to the next level.
